Restorative Care Aide

Starting Rate: $24.06 hourly

Salary Range: $24.06 - $25.60 hourly

Status: Casual

Hours of Work: Minimum availability of 45 hours (6 shifts) in a six-week period, including at least two shifts on weekends. Opportunity to pick-up additional shifts.

The Pines has been serving seniors with care and dignity in our community since 1961. Our cozy and comfortable home encompasses five resident home areas (one secure) and has four wonderful courtyards with plenty of outdoor spaces to roam about.

 

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Activities Manager, the Restorative Care Aide implements restorative programs to assist and support residents to restore, maintain or improve activities of daily living and psychosocial/mental functioning.

 

What you will do

  • Implement and assist in evaluating both individual and group restorative programs based on assessed needs of individual residents as assigned by the Manager and Registered Staff

  • Transport residents to and from programs

  • Assist with feeding residents during meal times

  • Monitor the behavior and condition of residents during restorative programs, reporting any significant changes to the Manager

  • Participate in care conferences as required

 

What you will need

  • Graduate of a two (2) year college program in Kinesiology, Gerontology or related program

  • Completion of Restorative Care Certificate (3 day course)

  • Previous experience working with seniors in restorative programs, preferably in LTC, would be an asset

  • Completed police record check, including vulnerable sector screening
