Laundry Aide


Posting Date: Wednesday, March 26, 2025

Closing Date: Wednesday, April 2, 2025 @ 12:00 NOON

Starting Rate: $21.51 hourly

Salary Range: $21.51 - $22.65 hourly

Status: Permanent part-time

Hours of Work: Minimum availability of 45 hours (6 shifts) in a two-week period, including every other weekend. Will be scheduled a minimum of 30 hours (4 shifts) during each two-week period with opportunity to pick-up additional shifts

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Support Services, the Laundry Aide collects, sorts, washes, dries, folds and delivers linen and personal clothing in accordance with established procedures.

 

What you will do

  • Collect/receive laundry and sort according to type, condition and weight and follow specific instructions for treatment of soiled linens

  • Safely operate laundry equipment following established procedures

  • Fold linens according to policy, stock exchange carts and deliver to resident home areas

  • Assist in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment and supplies including lint filters and drains, carts, laundry bins, etc.

 

What you will need

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

  • Good communication skills and ability to read, write and follow written instructions in English

  • Completed police record check, including vulnerable sector screening

  • Previous experience in a commercial or health care setting would be an asset
